Before I mount the splitter to the bumper cover I lay down strips of "pick-up
truck cap" mounting tape, to give it a nice tight seal to the bumper cover
and help the two dissimilar plastics conform to each other. The tape is just
like very wide and thick weather-stripping. Its very heavy duty and meant for
outdoor / automotive use. I am sure this step is not absolutely necessary but
it makes it mount up very nice. Also, as I disassembled the broken one this
mounting tape was so sturdy I probably could have used half the fasteners I
did use. I literally had to "pry" the old splitter off the bumper cover
"after" I had removed all the fasteners. As far as fasteners go, I used M6
"button head" bolts with standard washers against the hard acrylic and fender
washers against the softer plastic of the bumper cover. Nyloc nuts were used
everywhere.

I drilled LOTS of attachment holes,,, I didn't use all of
them. I did use all of them last time but upon disassembly of the broken one
I determined that on the first one I went a little "overkill" On this one I
drilled all the same holes but only used the ones I thought were most
important,,, totally a discretionary call. Again this is a homemade thing,,,
so I kind of make it up as I go,,, basement level R&D at its best.
