OK. Here we see the roll cage in the interior of an Alpha Romeo 156 Super Touring car. This same picture
is featured elswhere on this site, but I have included it here in order to concentrate on the cage design.
Things to note are the diagonal tube going from above the driver's head towards the dashboard area. Also
check out the "diamond" triangulation accross the front windshield and the lack of any tubes behind the
driver (no main hoop diagonal or harness bar).
Another design feature is the way that the cage does not shoot straight down from the top of the B-pillar
to the rear shock tower. Instead the cage continues along the roof all the way back to the C-pillars and
then takes a much more vertical path down to the shock towers. This allows the cage to better pick up
the (vertical) loads on the towers.
