Tad Laird's Wild E30 M3 - Page 2

Custom fuel cell and fire suppression system

Above we see the custom fuel cell installation along with part of the fire suppression system. The fuel cell is much safer in the event of a crash. The only dissadvantage is that when fully loaded it does put a lot of mass behind the rear axle line. This increases the polar moment of inertia which is generally bad for handling. Nonetheless, this is where the Motorsport boys installed their fuel cells so it can't be that bad right?

Willwood four piston calipers - on the rear!

Willwood four piston calipers - on the rear! These are commonly seen on the front end but Tad's car has them at all four corners. The installation uses factory BMW rotors (E36 M3 units up front) so that a new set of rotors is easy to get. This is always a good thing to keep in mind when doing mod's. Tad has a two master cylinder setup to match the new calipers. This is really the ultimate way to go.
