These three photos were taken by me.  My friend Randy Walters is co-driving my car at a BMW CCA auto-x at San Diego's Jack Murphy Stadium (West Lot).  This has to be one of the largest lots used for auto-x in this country.  The West Lot is simply huge!  Third gear is the norm rather than the exception at this site.

Here's Randy braking hard for a turn.  Note the amount of compression on the front suspension.  The H&R coil over kit offers a nice ride, but it is definitely biased more towards comfort than performance.
In the top photo take a look at the outside front wheel.  Notice that the suspension is very compressed.  Now imagine you are cornering hard on the street and then hit a bump.  There is not much travel left on that outside front wheel.  What happens?  That's right, the outside front wheel bottoms out.  This has happened to me enough times now that I have decided to upgrade the spring rates, either with stiffer H&R's or preferably with linear rate race springs (maybe from Ground Control).
