This is a photo of Jim Butterworth's engine. The engine came from a car which was purchased in non-running condition. Jim originally thought he might fix up the engine and put it in his 2002 tii. But he soon came to his senses and is now performing a full-up restoration of his E30 M3 along with a suitably enhanced S14 powerplant. The picture shows what a burnt exhaust valve looks like. It's not pretty. This cylinder would not have checked out very well during a leakdown test 8^) This same cylinder head subsequently received the full Turner Stage III treatment. I assure you it looked much better after that. |
